Since I was a child, I have always had a thing for swimming in cold water. The rush you get while doing it and the sensations you feel when warming up again, just makes it great. And apparently, its really good for you as well (be cautious: only when you are properly trained, otherwise you risk getting a heartattack)! So when I first laid eyes upon this glacier lagoon, called jokulsarlon, 3 years ago, it immediately became my favorite place to swim (until I go to greenland probably :p).

Reciting a poem I made after being on my own, in the wild, for about a week. My first poem in English, so please dont hate :p I am surrounded. Beautiful mountain tops, majestically piercing the sky. Everywhere I look. Bright moonlight shining upon them. My state of jubilance is unparalleled, as I extricated myself from all the meaningless misery in the world. A sudden drop in temperature sends a shiver down my spine. I see a grotesque gulf of silver fume climbing over the mountaintops, headed towards me in a steady and terrifying pace. Again, I am surrounded. Thick floating droplets, everywhere I look. Staring into the void gives me a feeling of desperation, I have never felt before. I start crying tears that bear a strong resemblance to the droplets that surround me. As I am on the verge of breaking down, the sun rises above one of the mountain peaks. One by one, rays of pale gold light streak across my face, penetrating the fearsome vale. My melancholy slowly dissipates, like the wreaths of mist that surrounded me.
